IMG Licensing is expanding its portfolio with a new literary property.
The agency has been appointed the exclusive North American licensing representative for The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince), the classic book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It will lead efforts to grow the brand’s consumer products program.
“The United States holds a unique place in the history of The Little Prince – the book was written and first published in New York in 1943, and the original manuscript is preserved at the Morgan Library,” said Sophie Kopaczynski, CEO of LPP Groupe. “These deep historical roots make North America a particularly meaningful territory for the brand. We are confident that IMG’s expertise and market leadership will help elevate The Little Prince to new heights and forge best-in-class partnerships.”
IMG plans to expand the brand across multiple categories, including toys, games, apparel, home goods, and publishing, while also developing location-based entertainment and immersive experiences. The strategy builds on the property’s global footprint across exhibitions and themed installations.
“The Little Prince is one of the most beloved novellas of all time and one that speaks profoundly and affectingly to values of friendship, love, loss, responsibility, and the power of imagination,” said Bruno Maglione, President of IMG Licensing. “Through its prose and beautiful watercolor illustrations, it succeeds in communicating a philosophy of life that reaches adults and children alike at different levels. We are honored to work with LPP Groupe and look forward to forging product partnerships that can resonate with the millions who have been inspired by this literary unicorn.”
The partnership arrives ahead of the 80th anniversary of the book’s French publication in 2026, with new publishing initiatives and global activations expected to support continued brand growth.
