International Literary Properties has signed a licensing agreement with Harvinger Studios for a new line of articulated action figures based on Fritz Leiber’s fantasy characters Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser.
The deal brings the characters into Harvinger Studios’ Savage Crucible line, a 6-inch-scale collectible figure series that also includes figures inspired by Death Dealer and Elric of Melniboné.
Leiber, a Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author, is widely associated with the “sword and sorcery” fantasy genre and is credited with helping popularize the term through his stories centered on the city of Lankhmar. First introduced in the late 1930s, the adventures of the barbarian Fafhrd and the thief Gray Mouser became some of Leiber’s best-known works and influenced fantasy creators including Michael Moorcock, Roger Zelazny, and Terry Pratchett.
Over the years, the Lankhmar stories have expanded into additional licensed media, including graphic novels illustrated by Mike Mignola and tabletop role-playing adaptations tied to Dungeons & Dragons.
International Literary Properties, founded in 2020, manages literary and theatrical estates and works across publishing, film, television, theater, and consumer products. The company’s portfolio includes works connected to creators such as Tennessee Williams and Langston Hughes.
