Mattel is expanding its Masters of the Universe (MOTU) lineup with a second wave of toys inspired by the upcoming live-action film, set to hit theaters in the U.S. June 5.
Debuting at Toy Fair New York as part of Mattel’s Kids Collection, the new assortment follows the previously introduced Chronicles figures and features movie-accurate characters portrayed by Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendez, Idris Elba, Alison Brie, and others.
The 5.5-inch action figures for kids ages 6 and up feature 14 points of articulation and include film-inspired accessories designed for dynamic play and display. Characters in the new wave include He-Man, Teela, Beast Man, Skeletor, Skel-Knight, Havoc Staff Attack Skeletor, Power Sword Slash He-Man, and Battle Cat.
The lineup also expands into vehicles and role play. The Roton Assault Vehicle features spinning blades and projectile launchers, while the Skeletor Talking Mask includes character phrases and sound effects. The Power of Grayskull Power Sword incorporates lights, sounds, and motion-activated vibration effects for immersive play.
Products arrive in stores globally April 25 and continue to storm Castle Greyskull through the rest of the year. The live-action Masters of the Universe film, from Amazon MGM Studios, and Mattel Studios, will be released domestically by Amazon MGM Studios and internationally by Sony Pictures International Releasing.
