Paramount and Hidden Pigeon Company are collaborating for the first time to create two animated series. Inspired by Mo Willems’ best-selling books, Paramount+ has greenlit The Elephant & Piggie Show! and The Pigeon Show! Starring the Pigeon.
Mo Willems is an author and illustrator who has received numerous accolades for his projects. Notable works include Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale, and We Are in a Book! Willems’s books have received a Caldecott Honor on three occasions, two Theodor Seuss Geisel Medals, five Geisel Honors, and more.
The Elephant & Piggie early reader books become a warm, comedic pre-K series in The Elephant & Piggie Show! Taking place in the neighborhood of Willemsburg, this show follows the messy and hilarious friendship of Elephant Gerald and his best friend Piggie.
The popular Mo Willems character makes its series debut in The Pigeon Show! Starring the Pigeon. This show is about the daily struggles of a pigeon who just wants to be listened to. Viewers will see familiar characters from the book series as well as new characters like Nana-Dactyl, The Pigeon’s grandmother, Ima Pigeon, and Doug Pigeon.
