Marvel Legends Fanstream Press Photos and Preorders

The Legends Team had a fanstream yesterday and showed off a lot of stuff we knew about, with a few cool surprises. Hasbro sent along some press photos and there is a pre-order dropping right now, so it seemed like a good time to write about it!

I am so glad that the Secret Wars line is continuing, those were some of my favorite figures as a kid, but I had no idea that they made Ice Man for the line until much later in life. This is a decent tribute to that figure, though they still aren’t quite hitting my platonic ideal Iceman. I love the blast effects, but I feel like I need some more crystaline, hard edges to his body to fully capture the Iceman look I love from the comics. He’s a Pulse and Fan-Channel exclusive, up for sale in October 7 at 1 PM and will run you $27.99.

The comic accessory figures are continuing and I’ll start with probably the one I’ll skip, Silver Surfer. This looks lovely, but I think my Galactus and Walgreens versions will suffice for now as pins don’t really bother me as much as it seems to most legends fans. Unless there’s a great clearance…

This Black Widow is super tempting. I love this costume and the more articulated body is an improvement on the version I have with the jacket.

I’ve never been the biggest fan of the Cat Beast, but I do have the other Astonishing figures, so I do feel like I should probably get this one. He looks good, but admittedly, I don’t have a lot of strong feelings about how this figure should look.

Feral is a mush have for me to complete that X-Force team. I am surprised she isn’t quite as furry as I would think. Is she not covered in fur? I would have thought that the Wolfsbane body would be in order here.

This Daredevil is an interesting variation. I don’t think I read this particular run, but it does feel very in the vein of John Romita Jr’s art. There is a weird, I think unintended, bulkiness to the sweatsuit that reads to me less as a muscular guy and more as a regular big dude and I really like that a lot.

Finally, we have my number one most wanted Legends figure ever, Rachel as Phoenix. This looks really nice, the Hound effect is great, but man I wish they did the Alan Davis style mullet for her as her hair was often out like that in this run. I bought that Excalibur book when it was new and read it a thousand times when I was a kid, so this is the first one of those comic accessories that I really want to get. These go up for preorder 9/10 at 1PM ET. The elephant in the room here is that they all cost $27.99, that Tariff price increase finally kicking in. It’s making me really think about how many of these I will be getting.

This Punisher packs feels a little out of nowhere in a great way and they both look great. I especially like Fury’s portrait that leaves a spot for his cigar. This one is pretty rough at 62.99, however. Preorders go up 9/18 at pulse and participating retailers.

Finally we get another long-time want in Deathbird. I always prefer a more classic costume, but this version works for me and I really like the new eye-beam head for Gladiator. This will be $57.99 and up for pre-order 9/18 at Pulse and participating retailers. It’s a nice group of figures, but that price increase hurts like hell, what all are you guys getting?
