Fuelled by its latest Play Report, IKEA is debuting a new kids’ home collection that leans into the power of play.
Findings show that play in the home can help reduce stress, boost creativity, and bring families together, and GREJSIMOJS is taking this to heart. Loosely translating to ‘thingamajig,’ the line transforms everyday objects into imaginative decor pieces, from furry-clad classics and colorful cabinets to animal-inspired storage options. All 33 items embrace unique shapes, textures, and colors, bringing a touch of whimsy to families’ daily lives. The collection will launch in stores in February 2026.
The collection will also include pieces featuring IKEA’s 2026 Color of the Year, Rebel Pink. This playful pastel adds a pop of personality to playrooms and living rooms alike, giving families the freedom to furnish with fun.
“Our Play report showed us that children and parents want more play and playfulness in their lives and in their homes. We also know that play brings us together and is nature’s most powerful way of creating lifelong learning. That is why we developed GREJSIMOJS,” says Maria Törn, Range Area Manager for Children’s IKEA, IKEA of Sweden AB. “We know that there is a lot of pressure on parents today, and we do not want to put another must on them, but rather encourage play to become a natural part of the home.”
Highlights from the lineup include a furry MAMMUT chair, cabinets and craft tables, a cactus hat rack, and a monster-shaped storage pouffe, complete with a toothy grin. Others give functional furniture an animal-inspired twist, such as cat-shaped storage pieces, purple and green mice as speakers, a bird rocking horse, and a giraffe nightlight. Kids are encouraged to touch, feel, and engage with every piece, creating a space where imagination can thrive, and nothing is off-limits.
“GREJSIMOJS is meant to be a visible part of the home furnishing, with objects that are beautifully designed to fit the home, even after the children have gone to bed,” says Anna Granath, Range Identity Leader for IKEA. “Our designers had the freedom to play when they designed this collection, to bring both the perspective of an adult and a child. For instance, how might an adult perceive a statement rug, and at the same time, allow it to be a wild landscape for a crawling child to explore?”
The GREJSIMOJS collection will be available at all IKEA locations in February 2026. For more information about the collection and the research behind it, check out IKEA’s latest Play Report on its website.
