Three new episodes of Alma’s Way are coming down the tracks toward PBS Kids! This hilarious batch of stories teaches kids about empathy, friendship, and the power of a subway jam session.
The episodes follow 6-year-old Alma Rivera, a confident and kind Puerto Rican girl living in The Bronx. Each story gives little viewers a window into her unique, bustling lifestyle, from playing drums with Uncle Nestor to exploring the city with her friends. Alma frequently pauses for “Think-Through” moments to share her feelings, encourage curiosity, and teach kids essential social skills to approach tough challenges. All three new episodes will air on PBS Kids between April 28-30.

Throughout the new episodes, Alma will work through various social situations and emotions, like copycat friends, feeling left out, and even letting a cow live in their apartment! A highlight of the upcoming stories is “Subway All-Stars,” which features renowned bassist Esperanza Spalding voicing a new character, Zelda Jazz. In this episode, Alma, Eddie, and Uncle Nestor prepare to perform their music on the subway when Jazz appears. Jazz is sure it’s her day to perform, not theirs. In the face of this disagreement, Alma finds a way for everyone to share the stage.
The new Alma’s Way episodes will air on PBS Kids next week. Kids can also stream the entire series now on the PBS Kids website!
