GennComm pioneered the use of viscoelastic foam (a.k.a. memory foam) in toys back in 2017, igniting the plush category with its sweetest squeezes yet. Now, the company is exploring new technologies in the space, filing its fifth patent for the filling.
This US patent marks GennComm’s fifth in the plush category and sixth overall, invented in-house by Jeremy Brian Medwed, Director of Innovation in the ImaGENNation division. Demand for collectible, snuggly plush continues to grow, and the company is rising to the challenge, forming new brands, partnering with licensees, and developing new iterations of its foam, including sustainable swaps for the fluff. With many more patents and Trademarks pending, GennComm is cementing itself as an innovator in sensory and tactical IP.
Genna Rosenberg, CEO of GennComm, shared, “What excites us is how this dynamic material, in its various formulations, can offer entirely new features and endless opportunities for innovation. Our team, led by Jeremy Medwed and our VP of Licensing, Allyson Frome, is dedicated to both creating new trends and capturing emerging ones through product development. With the wide-ranging claims in our patents and the versatility of viscoelastic foam, we see tremendous potential to partner with leading companies and enhance kid-centric features in plush technology.”
