The Halloween & Costume Association (HCA) is once again shining a spotlight on the Halloween industry’s most innovative products.
The organization has opened submissions for the third annual Spooky Awards, inviting Halloween manufacturers to enter products across a variety of categories, including costumes, accessories, decor, makeup, masks, and more. Open to both HCA members and non-members, the awards recognize creativity, innovation, marketability, trendsetting potential, appeal, and usefulness across the Halloween category.
“The Spooky Awards were created to celebrate the incredible creativity and innovation that make the Halloween industry so unique,” explains Michele Boylstein, Executive Director of the HCA. “Each year we are inspired by the imagination, craftsmanship, and passion behind the products submitted, and we look forward to recognizing the best of the best once again in 2026.”
Manufacturers can submit entries through July 27. HCA members receive one complimentary submission and discounted pricing on additional entries, while non-members may participate for a fee.
Award categories include adult, child, licensed, and non-character costumes; accessories such as wigs, hats, and shoes; decor; makeup; masks; and a Most Innovative category that is open to all entries.
Finalists are expected to be announced on or around Sept. 25 and will receive the official HCA Spooky Awards Finalist logo for use in marketing and promotional materials. Winners will be revealed during the 2027 Halloween & Party Expo in New Orleans, where manufacturers, retailers, buyers, licensors, and media gather to preview upcoming Halloween products and industry trends.
Now in its third year, the Spooky Awards continue to recognize product innovation and creative excellence while highlighting the manufacturers helping shape each Halloween season.
