Celebrate International Day of Play with Hasbro’s Tabletop Events

International Day of Play is only a few days away, so Hasbro and its subsidiary, Wizards of the Coast, are rolling for initiative with new in-store and online programs that highlight how games bring kids and families together.

Kicking off June 11, International Day of Play is a global celebration that protects and promotes every child’s right to safe, inclusive, and accessible play. Hasbro’s events reinforce this mission with experiences for tabletop players of all ages and skill levels across more than 10,000 Wizards Play Network retail locations inspired by two of its most beloved board games: Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) and Magic: The Gathering (MTG).

At participating stores, MTG fans can enjoy a variety of action-packed activations, from casual, social format matches to Avengers Academy, a learn-to-play experience inspired by MTG: Marvel Super Heroes. New and returning players can also score welcome decks and in-store rewards, with bonuses for those who bring a friend. The fun continues online on MTG Arena with a phantom event featuring limited-time digital surprises.

Meanwhile, D&D players can embark on a brand-new adventure on D&D BeyondBorderlands Quest: Dagger Danger. Designed for first-timers, this guided campaign features pre-made characters, simplified rules, and a clear narrative path, making it easier than ever for new players and Dungeon Masters to jump in. Beyond the tabletop, Hasbro is also bringing International Day of Play into local communities through a series of volunteer-led events. Employees will host a family game night with The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Rhode Island, which provides free year-round camps for kids with serious illnesses; partner with Playworks and the City of Boston to celebrate classic recess games; and introduce hundreds of Washington middle school students to MTG and D&D during a special game day event.

International Day of Play takes place June 11. For more information about Hasbro’s events and to find participating store locations, visit locator.wizards.com
