WildBrain Refines Strategy Around Franchises, Content, and Digital Distribution

WildBrain is restructuring its strategic focus around three core business pillars as the company looks to expand its franchise, content, and digital distribution operations.

The company says its updated strategy centers on growing the long-term value of its intellectual property through brand partnerships, consumer products licensing, content production, location-based entertainment, and digital distribution across its channel network.

Under the revised structure, WildBrain’s operations will be organized into Franchise and Global Licensing, Content, and WildBrain Network divisions.

The Franchise and Global Licensing pillar will oversee management of owned brands, including Teletubbies, Yo Gabba Gabba!, Strawberry Shortcake, Inspector Gadget, and Degrassi, as well as licensing operations through WildBrain CPLG. The company also announced that Ben Peace has rejoined WildBrain to lead the franchise business as executive vice president of franchise, while Maarten Weck will continue overseeing global licensing growth and partnerships.

WildBrain’s Content division will consolidate the company’s animation, live-action, development, and digital production operations under Stephanie Betts. Additional leadership updates include expanded roles for Ricardo Curtis, Wes Lui, Morgana Duque, Daisy Wall, and Katie Wilson.

The company also reaffirmed its focus on the WildBrain Network, which includes more than 1,000 kids and family channels across YouTube, FAST, and AVOD platforms. According to the company, the network generates more than 17 billion viewing minutes each month and will continue to serve as a major audience and advertising platform under the leadership of Kate Smith.

“At heart, WildBrain is a franchise-led company, built around some of the world’s most beloved kids and family brands,” says Josh Scherba, President and CEO. “As we continue to build on our proven 360‑degree strategy, we are sharpening our focus on the greatest opportunities for sustainable growth. That focus is driving stronger execution across our owned franchises and licensing partners at WildBrain CPLG, our world‑class content engine, and the ongoing scale and evolution of the WildBrain Network. With a clean balance sheet and a strong leadership team in place, we are investing with confidence and momentum as we position WildBrain for its next phase of growth.”
