The Wiggles Signs Global Music Deal with Universal Music Group

The Wiggles enters a global strategic agreement with Universal Music Group, marking a new phase of growth for the children’s entertainment group. Through the partnership, Universal Music Australia leads efforts to expand the group’s reach globally, supported by UMG’s network across streaming, digital, and physical distribution, promotion, and marketing. In the U.S., releases will be handled by Republic Records: Kids & Family.

We see strong potential to continue growing The Wiggles brand globally, while staying true to what has also made them so beloved for more than 35 years,” says Andrew Kronfeld, Executive Vice President, International and Label and Artist Ventures, Universal Music Group.

The collaboration is designed to support new recording projects, expanded digital content, and integrated campaigns to increase the group’s international presence. The Wiggles, formed in 1991, has generated more than 30 million album and DVD sales, 4 billion global music streams, and 6 billion YouTube views.

The group’s popularity in the U.S. dates back to the early 2000s, when television broadcasts, home video releases, and touring helped drive international growth. In 2003, the group performed 12 consecutive sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and New York City declared Nov. 1 “Wiggles Day” that same year.

The partnership builds on The Wiggles’ long-standing relationship with ABC Music, which served as the group’s record label since 1991. During that time, the group earned 18 ARIA Awards and was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

The Wiggles currently performs as an eight-member ensemble, producing music and content for families worldwide while continuing to expand its live entertainment footprint. The group is preparing for a global tour, with performances scheduled across the U.K., U.S., and Canada from March through August.
