At this year’s Brand Licensing Europe, Universal Products and Experiences reflects on its most popular franchise and films, and reveals upcoming projects for 2026 and beyond.
Movie enthusiasts can watch Wicked: For Good on Nov. 21 to experience the epic conclusion of the successful Broadway film adaptation. Gabby’s Dollhouse from DreamWorks Animation also joins this year’s movie lineup with its first-ever cinematic film, Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie, debuting Sept. 26.
Universal’s movie announcements continue with new releases expanding the storylines of its most popular brands and franchises. In 2026, Illumination will debut a new animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros. in April and release Minions 3 in July.
Beyond 2026, DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek 5, whose teaser announcement sparked more than 193 million views in 24 hours, will debut in theaters in 2027. The live-action How to Train Your Dragon, which hit theaters June, is moving forward with a second film also launching in 2027.
Universal also reveals plans for additional content aside from movie launches. Gabby’s Dollhouse has Netflix content secured through 2028, alongside a live touring stage show and theme park activations. Following the success of the Jurassic Park franchise, Universal will launch the highly anticipated Jurassic Park: Survival video game and Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 4.
