Mattel’s Content and Franchise Chiefs to Deliver Joint Keynote at MIPCOM Cannes 2025

Mattel is set to take center stage. President of Mattel Studios and Chief Content Officer Robbie Brenner and Chief Franchise Officer Josh Silverman will deliver a joint keynote at MIPCOM Cannes 2025 on Tuesday, October 14, at 10:30 a.m. in the Palais des Festivals’ Grand Auditorium.

This marquee session will showcase how Mattel is building upon its 80-year legacy to drive cultural relevance through bold storytelling, multiplatform content development, and a globally connected franchise ecosystem. As the company continues to expand its reach across film, television, digital platforms, and experiential offerings, attendees can expect exclusive insight into Mattel’s entertainment pipeline and brand-building strategy.

“Taking the stage at MIPCOM Cannes is the perfect opportunity to highlight how Mattel’s storytelling is captivating audiences around the globe,” says Brenner. “We are eager to engage with best-in-class partners at MIPCOM during an incredibly exciting time in our industry.” 

The keynote will feature previews of Mattel’s upcoming content slate, including the live-action Masters of the Universe and Matchbox feature films, both slated for release in 2026. The presentation will also highlight developments across digital channels such as Roblox and ongoing brand expansion for properties like Hot Wheels, American Girl, Monster High, and Barney.

“It is a momentous time, in our 80th anniversary year, to be participating in MIPCOM Cannes and underscore Mattel’s commitment to expanding our beloved IP across cutting-edge entertainment platforms,” says Silverman.

Brenner and Silverman’s address is part of a broader program at MIPCOM Cannes 2025, which centers on the Creator Economy and includes the international debut of BrandStorytelling — a summit on brand-funded content traditionally held at the Sundance Film Festival. MIPCOM Cannes and its sister event MIPJUNIOR are recognized as the most influential global markets for television and streaming content, drawing over 10,500 industry delegates from more than 100 countries.

Mattel’s keynote underscores the company’s commitment to innovation, audience-driven storytelling, and franchise growth across an increasingly interconnected entertainment landscape.
