It’s alive! After the success of its first Spooky Awards, the Halloween & Costume Association (HCA) is reviving the celebration for another year of honoring horror.
The 2025 Spooky Awards recognize the hard work that creators and manufacturers dedicate year-round to creating fresh, frightfully fun Halloween products. From accessories and decor to masks and makeup, this honor spotlights the diverse talent, creativity, and innovation that make the season magical. Submissions will open next week and be accepted through Aug. 15.
This year’s award categories include Halloween staples like Makeup, — including Character, 3D, and Scary/Horror — Accessories, Masks, and Decor. Costumes will conjure six subcategories: Adult, Child, Licensed, Most Unique, Non-Character, and Scary/Horror. Products can also win an award for Packaging; Sustainability; Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion; and Most Innovative. Each entry will be judged by a panel of industry experts on innovation, marketability, trendsetting potential, appeal, and usefulness.
Anyone in the industry is welcome to submit online next week until Aug. 15. Non-members can enter for a fee, while HCA members will receive one complimentary entry, with subsequent submissions available at a discount. Finalists will be announced Oct. 1, and winners will be revealed live at the 2026 Halloween & Party Expo in January.
