Zigazoo, a social media platform designed for Generation Alpha, is gearing up to celebrate its second annual Social Media Wellness Month. Lining up with May’s Mental Health Awareness Month, the company is teaming up with celebrities like tennis star Serena Williams and NASCAR driver Erik Jones to encourage kids to learn how to navigate social media in a positive way.
According to a Pew Research study, 74% of teens feel that social media helps them stay connected to friends, 63% use it as an outlet for creative pursuits, and 34% use social media to learn more about mental health resources. Zigazoo acknowledges that the internet and social media are ingrained in the Gen Alpha experience. The platform’s aim is to make a digital space where kids can explore and connect while building their social development in a beneficial way.

To truly support their safety, creativity, and mental health, we must design tools that meet their unique developmental needs and empower both them and their support systems with the skills to use social media in positive, meaningful ways.
Additionally, the platform will participate in a roundtable discussion called “Should Social Media Be Encouraged or Banned for Kids?” and provide resources like advice from Gen Alpha influencers and an expert-designed toolkit to help parents teach their kids internet safety. The company will also hold giveaways on MESH-certified toys and books throughout the month.
